In this video, you’ll learn a super simple shiso recipe.

Taisiya will show you how to make this super simple 5-minute stir fry using our freshly grown shiso.

We used herbs from our hydroponic container farms for this shiso recipe.

Shiso is a Japanese herb with a slightly bitter taste that is perfect for garnishing dishes like this salad. Shiso is part of the mint family and is often used to garnish meals, such as fish, rice, tempura, soups, and vegetable dishes.

It’s also known for having antibacterial qualities and can be served either fresh or even pickled. If you’re a fan of sushi, you may have seen it served as part of sashimi plates, under the wasabi.

Here’s what you need to make this recipe at home:

  • 1 head of shiso
  • 2 Tablespoons of Sesame Oil
  • 3 Teaspoons of Soy Sauce Chili pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup of cashews
  • Snap peas
  • Mushrooms
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Scallions

To make this simple shiso recipe, start by chopping up the mushrooms, scallions, and Shiso.

Once you have chopped your produce, it’s time to saute the mushrooms, shiso, and scallions in a stir fry pan with your olive oil, sesame oil, and soy sauce.

Finally, add the cashews and you’re ready to eat!
